Cutting Through the Noise in the Boutique Guitar Pedal Scene
Ambient Trash is a pandemic passion project that quickly snowballed into a side hustle. Since late 2020, I've been hired to create product demo videos for dozens of makers of guitar gear and effects units, from part-time solo operations to industry giants with international distribution.
To date, Ambient Trash has grown an organic following of over 40,000. Current clients include Dunlop Manufacturing (MXR, Way Huge), Chase Bliss, and MAS Distro (ZVEX, Electronic Audio Experiments).

Long-Form Product Demos
My primary form of work is long-form, evergreen product demo content. With the goal of helping viewers imagine what it's like to actually use a piece of gear, my videos are heavy on information and geared toward high-intent viewers who have passed through the initial "interest" phase and want to know more.
Given that, each demo is structured as an editorialized, progressive exploration of the gear, starting with broad tonal characteristics and functionality, then zooming in on more specific creative applications and edge cases.
Visual Identity
The visual aesthetic of Ambient Trash is dark and moody, mirroring the styles of music I play on the channel. Graphics and textures lean into glitch and noise effects inspired by 2000s digital grunge and Y2K nostalgia art.
Videos are shot with a single key light in a dark studio, leaning into harder shadows. Surfaces are allowed (and often styled) to be messy, framing shots while giving scenes a more intimate, over-the-shoulder feel.
